Coaxial plugs have been in common use since the 1930s. Since then, their design has changed relatively little. Polar Creative has been using coaxial connectors in many of their products since the mid-1990s, and has written the installation instructions used by most of the UK’s major DIY outlets. In 2008 Polar Creative succeeded in simplifying the conventional coaxial connector.
