A balun is a device, usually consisting of a circuit board, which balances the impedance of coaxial cable with the unbalanced impedance of an aerial. It is the point where the coaxial cable meets the aerial, and is notoriously succeptible to water ingress and other issues.
Following extensive testing at the National Physical Laboratory and Schaffner EMC, Polar Creative designed a new type of balun, which is easy to use and fast to assemble. A balun often requires soldering where the coaxial braid and core are connected. Otherwise, where there is an F-Connect socket, extensive insulating table, or an awkward grommet have to be used. Polar Creative's design requires neither of these.
