Prior to detailed casing design and 3D conceptual visualisation, hand sketching gives us the flexibility to realise the basic form, mechanics and assembly of a product.
The indoor UHF antennas (folding, ledge and log-periodic) are an example where free-hand sketches were created and shown to clients who provide valuable feedback at this early stage in the design process. Feedback at this critical stage allows us to direct the design in a more cost and time effective way.
Physical models are often fabricated using a variety of techniques from rapid prototyping to traditional model making. This allows the product to be physically realised and shown to potential clients before designing for manufacture.
